FileLinker Search – Find and Open Projects Quickly
FileLinker Search adds a central project search to FileLinker. Users can find projects by file name and open them directly from the results list. This makes projects easier to access, especially when working with large project collections.
Search Across Three Project Areas
The search includes FileLinker project files with the .flnk extension in the following areas:
- Project Center: Projects in the main folder.
- Favorites: Projects in the
Favoritessubfolder. - Archive: Projects in the
Archivesubfolder.
Use the area filter to search within a specific area or across all three areas.
Instant Filtering
Click the search icon in FileLinker to open FileLinker Search and display the available projects. The results list updates instantly as you type. Entering part of a file name is sufficient, and the search is not case-sensitive. When the search field is empty, all projects in the selected area are displayed.
Clear Search Results
The results list shows the project file name, project area, and full file path. This makes it easy to distinguish projects with identical names stored in different areas. A status indicator shows the number of matching results and the total number of project files found.
Open Projects Directly in FileLinker
Double-click a project, press Enter, or click “Show Project” to open it in FileLinker. FileLinker Search automatically selects the file in the corresponding project list and opens it in FileLinker’s existing project view. For archived projects, the corresponding Archive tab is also activated.
Refresh and Language Support
Click “Refresh” to scan the project folders again. If a file is no longer available, a message notifies the user.
The interface automatically uses the language setting in FileLinker’s FL.INI configuration file. Supported languages are German, English, French, Czech, Slovak, Chinese, Dutch, Spanish, Turkish, Italian, Polish, and Greek.
Search Scope
FileLinker Search searches project file names. File contents and additional subfolders are not searched.
